At the time I believe I was with Bell Sympatico for approximately 5 years. I signed up for this login service on April 7, This lasted for about months maybe, and then Bell started pushing back, effectively ending the sale of logins only services. There was nothing to be done at that point except use VPN's, which were not common services offered like they are today.

However, it came with a horrible caveat. The first modem rented was a CellPipeand it had a horrible sync-no-surf bug, with no fix coming.

Since i don't have any phone connection, i will be using a dry loop according to teksavvy customer service rep thanks. Depends on your area but usually good. Probably much better now, but I see no reason to move to cable at this point. That may not be all that far off though since my kids are getting older, and I plan on getting a 4K TV within the year.

My playing a Netflix 4K stream at the same time as my kids playing p streams could be problematic on 25 Mbps.

I live around younge and bloor area. Anyone knows how the DSL service is in that area? Bell, Rogers and Telus are expensive. Are there any other good internet service providers that i don't know about? I've had bell dsl which was going out all the time which required multiple service calls and missed work. I cancelled all my Teksavvy accounts - service was unreliable network issues, DSL packet loss, etc.

Much happier now with my Internet.Teksavvy uses Bell telephone lines to provide DSL service. They are basically a reseller for Bell. Their DSL download speed is up to 5. The speed offered is very reasonable and on average ranges between 3. Since Bell lines are used, the DSL service seem to be very reliable with minimal downtime. During our test period of 2 months, there was no downtime observed.

The bottom line is, if Bell is experiencing difficulties with their lines then Teksavvy customers will also face downtime. Among low cost high speed Internet Service providers, Teksavvy has very good reputation for customer service. The sales reps are friendly along with tech support team. If you do face any negative situation, you can complain in DSL Reports forum.

There is no contract. Purchasing a modem from Canada Computers will entitle you to a month of free service from Teksavvy. However, we advise that you purchase an used modem and save some money.

Please be advised that this price is for lite speed and not the 5 Mbps one. Overall, Teksavvy is a decent company providing low cost Internet service. Teksavvy was highly recommended by my friends. I called Teksavvy to set up the transfer. Two days later I was told that the order rejected.

Then my nightmare started.

Teksavvy is pretty good. I had some problems during activation. I called their technical support. I got my internet 8 days after signing up. So far I get 4. Teksavvy is a disaster. Nobody seems to care about customer service or resolving your issue…all they want to do is keep stealing your money.

Initially they agreed to only refund 1 month.

Previously I was ready to switch providers but now will likely stay with them. I very much appreciated the effort given to immediately respond to the complaint and correct the issue. However, I find it frustrating that I would not have had such a positive outcome if I had not complained here.

In the future I hope that the first line of contact with Teksavvy customer service on the phone is better able to deal with problems immediately.

We have been with TekSavvy for years without issue. We recommended them to family and friends and set our parents up with their service. A year and a half ago we upgraded our parents from DSL to cable internet.

We just realized that ever since we have been double billed for the account as Teksavvy never cancelled the DSL account on their end. I phoned customer service to try and correct the problem and was told that it was our fault for not cancelling and that they would only be able to refund 1 month out of a year and a half of double billing.

They said that from an accounting perspective they couldn't do more. It astounds me that in an industry that is so competitive they set so little value on customer retention. On a daily basis i am given offers from Bell, Rogers etc. Teksavvy could have offered to credit our account going forward or come up with some other solution but it was a hard no.

We really wanted to support this smaller company but will now have to look elsewhere for service. I am extremely disappointed with the customer service received and regret having recommended them to countless friends and family members. I hope they have a better experience but will now know better going forward.
